Sri Andal, who was daughter of Sri Periyalvar has the names Godha Piratti/Soodikudutha Nachiyar/Bhattar Piran Puthalvi and Thiruppavai Padiya Selvi. She has composed illustrious Thiruppavai contains 30 verses and Nachiyar Thirumozhi contains 143 verses praising the glories of Lord Vishnu.
In this Pasuram/Verse, Sri Anal praise the Lord Varuna and
the personification of Lord Vishnu as Lord Padmanabha. Sri Andal persuade the young maidens to
praise Lord Varuna, requesting Him to shower copious rain, she insists Lord
Varuna to get into the deep sea and wrap up immense quantity of water, raise
yourself into the dark sky which resembles Lord and downpour with thunderous
roar resembles the Panchajanya/conch and the lightening like the fierce weapon
discus of Lord, the heavy shower should be uninterrupted like the countless
arrows from the bow/Sharngam of Lord and abundant in nature that would help to
flourish the land.
