Sri Andal, who was daughter of Sri Periyalvar has the
names Godha Piratti/Soodikudutha Nachiyar/Bhattar Piran Puthalvi and
Thiruppavai Padiya Selvi. She has composed
illustrious Thiruppavai contains 30 verses and Nachiyar Thirumozhi contains 143
verses praising the glories of Lord Vishnu.
In this Pasuram/Verse Sri Andal describes the commendable
virtues of the Markazhi austerities, she insists to sing praising the majestic
form of Lord Vishnu as Lord Trivikrama who assumed the gigantic form and measured
the three worlds in the universe in two strides and placed the third step on
the head of the demon King Mahabhali.
She advises to perform ablutions in the holy river Yamuna that would
provide copious rain and flourish the land.
This observance would help the country prosper and free from famine, the
cows will provide abundance of milk in a touch on their heavy udder is capable
to handle by the skillful people.
Worship of Lord Trivikrama on this day would bring perpetual prosperity
in the Universe.
