King Vrishabhanu's daughter Sri Radha Rani was found on the night of the eighth day of bright moon in the month of Bhadrapad, when the King came for ablutions in the river Jamuna. He realised himself engulfed in a golden aura of Pure Love, which had originated from a Golden Lotus. The Golden Lotus carried a baby girl. King Vrishabhanu returned to the palace with the baby . The Queen - Kirtida was overjoyed at the arrival of the baby. Soon they realised that the baby was blind. It was like a thunderbolt to them.
Yasoda - the step mother of Krishna heard news of the newborn to Kiritida, her companion. She came to visit Kiritida and her new born baby with Krishna and her husband. As soon as Krishna saw the baby girl, he crawled upto her and drew his face near to her. Within a fraction of a second, the baby girl's eyelashes started to flutter and she opened her eyes. Her eyes were wide open like a fully bloomed lotus.
It is believed that Sri Radha Rani did not want to see anyone other than Sri Krishna at her first sight in this Universe. It reveals her eternal love for Krishna. She is the sacred symbol of Love, care, Selflessness, nurturing, sharing and purity. Her perpetual age is 14 years, 2 months and 15 days and her complexion is of molten gold.
