Kailasanathar Temple is one of
the Abhimana Kshetram of Lord Shiva located in Kanchipuram.
It is one of the prominent temples of Lord Shiva, famous for its
brilliant architectural and exquisite craftsmanship built by the rulers of
Pallava Dynasty. King Rajasimha Varman
initiated the construction of this magnificent temple was completed by his son King
Mahendra Varman. This temple has 58 sub shrines dedicated to the various forms
of Lord Shiva. In this temple Lord Shiva
worshipped in the form of Linga.

The manhole situated on the
circumambulatory path in the sanctum is believed as a gate way to salvation.

6.00 AM to 11.00 AM in the morning and 5.00 PM to 7.30 PM in the evenings.
