Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, once
you have went along with the Gopas to the temple of Lord Shiva situated in the
woods of Ambika, you were completely wrapped up with the beautiful young
maidens of Vraja, and they too were immersed in the supreme bliss. The celebrations and rituals continued for
long, after that all of them fallen asleep.
Alas! On that night, Nandagopa was swallowed by a colossal snake.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
The Gopas assembled was brought the burning log of woods and thrashed the
snake, but it did not leave its prey.
Immediately, all the Gopas fallen at your feet with cries to protect
Nandagopa. Oh! Supreme Lord, you have
approached the snake which was staring at you was touched by your feet. Instantly the snake regained its real form as
Vidhyadhara.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
Vidhyadhara praised you and reverentially greeted “Oh! Sudharshanadhara, Oh!
Prabho, I am Sudharshana, I have been cursed by Sages to become python for my
atrocities, ultimately I have sanctified by the touch of your feet.”
Consequently Vidhyadhara left to his abode and the Gopas happily returned to
Vraja.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
Once you have proceeded for a pleasure walk with the Young maidens of Vraja
along with Haladhara/Balarama. One of
the young ladies was taken away by Shankhachooda, the emissary of Lord
Kubera. You have chased Shakhachooda and
released the woman from the clutches of Shankhachooda, eventually Shakhachooda
was killed by you and the Shiromani/jewel worn on the crown by him was
presented to Balarama.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
You have remained completely absorbed in playing with the Gopas during the day
hours in the woods, playing melodious tunes on the divine flute which was flowing
like nectar, enticed even Lord Manmatha and celestial damsels that was most
pleasurable moment indeed. The young
maidens of Vraja thought of all those stunning moments and experienced severe
pangs of separation from you.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
Kamsa who was eagerly looking for an opportunity to harm you was assigned the
demon Arishta, emissary of Kamsa who has dreadful look appeared in the form of
vicious bull/Vrusharoopi before you.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
The fierce bull Arishtasura, rival of world peace assumed a colossal form,
drove away the herd of cattle and eventually hurried to you who is the personification
of Veda.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
The dreadful bull Arishtasura raised its horn and rushed to you. Instantly, you have fearlessly caught hold of
the bull which is an auspicious form and crushed to death. The deities were extremely pleased at your
valiant deed.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
The deities were delighted and praised you “Oh!
Bhagavan, you have reinstated the righteousness on the Earth once again
by killing the demon Arishtasura. Your
glorious deed enhanced the happiness of Lord Indra as well.”
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,
‘The evil doers/bulls go away from my sight; I am the slayer of bulls.’ In this
way you have amusingly made comments to Gopas, Oh! Vathapuresha, we earnestly
pray to protect us.
