The mother of the Universe Goddess Sri Parvathy took a bodily form known as personification of Sri Lalithambal.  At this Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra, Sages and deities, Kinnaras, Kimpurushas, Gandharvas, Bairava, Kshetrapalakas, Lord Muruga, Lord Ganesha, Ashtadikpalakas, Goddess Varahi, Goddess Chamundi like Sapthamathas also arrived to envision the majestic appearance of Sri Lalithambal.

All the deities praised the glories of Sri Lalithambal and taken their seats offered in her assembly.  Lord Brahma ordered Vishwakarma – celestial sculptor to build a palace which is suitable for her in all the sense.  With the blessings of Sri Lalithambal, the celestial sculptor Vishwakarma built a grand palace for her.  It has numerous striking chambers with all kinds of precious gems and scintillating royal seat for the most gorgeous mother of the Universe – Sri Lalithambal.  Lord Brahma astounded at the majestic look of the palace and at the spectacular beauty of Sri Lalithambal.  He started to think ‘Where did I find a celestial husband for this dazzling Sri Lalithambal?’.   There was no one in the Universe suitable for Goddess Lalithambal other than Lord Rudra.  But, He had chosen the life in cremation grounds as His favorite place, preferred to smear ashes all over the body, loved to wear poisonous snakes around the neck instead of glittering jewels, He preferred matted locks of hair and carrying the skeletons and skulls.  ‘How it is possible for Him to wed the charismatic Sri Lalithambal as His wife?’ Lord Brahma continued to visualize the things which made him even more confused.

Lord Rudra understood everything Lord Brahma has imagined.  Immediately, Lord Rudra took His brilliant and radiating form with all the glitters of jewels all over his body and in elegant attire, He stood before Sri Lalithambal in order to hypnotize her.  Thus, Lord Brahma astonished at the charming appearance of Lord Rudra and named him ‘Kameshwara’.  Lord Brahma announced the grand wedding ceremony which is going to be held shortly for Lord Kameshwara with Sri Lalithambal.

Sage Brihaspathi explains to Lord Indra that, there are sins which had no consensus at all, the sinner  had to go through the pains and experience the results of  the same.   He continued to explain the sins which had no 'prayaschitha' are:

  • Killing a Brahmin (Brahma Hathya)
  • Burglary
  • Torturing thereby making others life miserable
  • Consumption of intoxicated drinks
  • illicit relationship with women

Sage Brahaspathi called it as 'Maha Pathakangal' (severe sin).  He narrated the story of a Gangster.  He stole the wealth from the city of 'Kanchi' and ran away to the dense forest.  There, he hid the wealth safely  under the ground without the knowledge of his gang members.  One person amongst his gang followed him secretly and  found  the hidden wealth.  The person who followed, took away all the hidden wealth.  He brought home the wealth and handed over to his wife.  She advised her husband not to keep the wealth idle at home.  She also reminded him the story of Maharishi Valmiki and the result of his curse to the hunters family.   Finally, the couple decided to utilise the wealth for good purposes.  They spent the wealth on the renovation of temples, construction of ponds and garden, maintenance of villages and giving alms to Brahmin etc... Several years passed, the couple attained the final moments of their lives.  Lord Yama, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva sent their men to bring the couple to their own worlds.  Maharishi Narada arrived on the secene, saw the arguments between the messengers of the deities and  itt  continued for sometime.   Maharishi Narada advised the messengers of deities that, the couple spent their whole wealth for the good purpose, so they are deserved to be in the Abode of Lords.

Sri Lalithambal Sobanam describes the glory of 'Devi',  Sri Hayagreeva - Horse faced Lord  (one of the incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu) explains to Maharishi Agastya.  Goddess Lalitha,  The Mother of the Universe neither has a beginning nor an end.  It is impossible to describe her glory in a few words.

Once, Lord Indra was mejastically travelling on his white elephant and  passed through the three worlds .  He was thoroughly immersed in  his blissful ride made him  forgot to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy.  Lord Shiva got irritated at the disrespectful act of Lord Indra.   Lord Shiva instructed Maharishi Durvasa to present a  garland to Lord Indra while he enjoys his  ride on white elephant.  As instructed by the Lord,  Maharishi Durvasa appeared before Lord Indra and handed over the garland to him.  Indra received the garland from Maharishi Durvasa with humbleness and  placed it on the head of the elephant.  The elephant got annoyed at the presence of bumblebee on the garland.  Thus, took the garland with its tusk, banged on the floor and thrashed with its foot.  Maharishi Durvasa got raged  at the discourteous behavior of  Lord Indra.  He cursed Lord Indra.

Lord Indra arrived at Amarapuri.  He  terrified at  the bad omen in his Kingdom.   He invited 'Raja Guru' Brihaspathi,  received  him with  honor and  paid obeisance to him.  Lord Indra requested Sage Brihaspathi to advise him to eliminate the  existing bad omen  in his country.   After hearing Lord Indra, Maharishi replied that all these he had to go through because of his previous Karma.  He continued that there is no other choice left at this moment other than face the fruit of it.

Sri Lalithambal Sobanam describes the life of Maharishi Valmiki:

There was a Brahmin who was leading a life of  a mleccha, (barbarian)    as a result he had to take rebirth  as a hunter.  He engaged himself in snactching the money and wealth of the people who come across the forest.  Once the Saptharishis happend to go through the forest and the hunter threatend and harrassed them.  The Saptharishis in return with kindness advised him to leave this henious job and live a good life.   The hunter answered them back that he did not find any other way to save his family from the poverty.  Rishis continued that due to this atrocious act he is not only putting others life miserable, he is gaining bundle of sins.  Moreover, Rishis demanded the hunter to enquire his family whether they share the sins he has accumulating by snatching others valuable things.

The hunter returned to his family and  children enquired the same,    'Could anyone please share the burden of the sins I have accumulated through snatching others valuables?'.  All of them answered in Chorous ' What??   It is your responsibillity  to feed us as  a Head of the family.  We are not liable to share any your sins of henious activities'.  After hearing this, from his own family and children for whom he had committed sins for several years,  the deepily disappointed  hunter left them forever.   He cursed them for their selfishness.

The  totally dejected hunter  rushed back to Rishis.  He begged pardon for his monstrous acts and cried to save him.  The compassionate Rishis advised the 'Tharaka Nama' - 'Sri Rama Nama'.  Unfortunate hunter did not get the proper pronounciation of the Mantra.  The Rishis pointed at a tree and asked him to chant its name continously and He got himself relieved out of his sins.  Later, with the power of 'Tharaka Mantra' he has become the composer of one of the great epic 'Srimad Ramayana'.
