Lord Krishna’s arrival into the City of Mathura – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meanings

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have reached the city of Mathura in the afternoon, you had lunch with your associates in the garden, after that you all have left to have look at the beauty of the city of Mathura, ultimately reached on the main street.  There you could witness countless women and men who have infinite devoutness were assembled and eagerly waiting for your arrival, eventually you have drawn towards them with the chain of attraction.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The crowd of women gathered to witness you had the similar physical features of you, their beautiful feet had the touch of reddishness, they had a marvelous glow on their faces due to the intense love towards you, you have the gleam of dark cloud and they had attractive bosom, your eyes were moving all around and they had transfixed desirous eyes on you.  Your chest was adorned with the various precious ornaments; cluster of curly hair lock was decked with the feather of peacock, you had a gentle and innocent smile on your face.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,   your fleeting look gave immense joy to the women gathered, you have requested for the royal attire to a washer man, he refused to give and ordered you to go away, instantly you cut off his head, and eventually he too attained salvation.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, One of the weavers with good manners   provided you with suitable clothes, Oh! Lakshmipathey, he too attained your abode which is the place for Jeevathman of righteous deeds.  One of the garland makers provided you with alluring flower garlands and sung praising the glories of you; he was blessed with intense devotion and immense wealth.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, on your way, met a woman who had hunch on her back, she had lotus eyes, she provided you with various fragrances/perfumes, and in return you have made her heart overflow with intense devotion to you.  She needed her physical appearance and mind to cleanse; you have raised her chin upwards holding with your lotus hand, ultimately transformed her into a beautiful young maiden.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Vibho, The sinless soul’s who had intense devotion and dedication towards you were offered something or the other according to the capabilities, they offered Thaboolam/betel, Malya/garlands, Kusuma/flowers, etc… some of them stood with their palms joined on the path ways.  Oh! Vibho, I was not enough fortunate to stand with them and salute you, that’s the reason I am going through extreme grief and pain now.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Bhagavan, you have consoled the woman/Kubja who offered with various fragrances, that you will meet her again.  Kubja’s gaze with intense love followed you all the way; eventually you have entered in the main gate of the city of Mathura.  Your arrival was followed by the grand celebrations and your fame brought extreme delight throughout the city, like Devaki’s bosom overflowing with milk.
Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have entered the city which was ready for the celebration, preceded to the hall where the bow was kept, the guards were gave way and stood aside after seeing your charismatic look.  You have reverentially offered prayers to the bow decorated with the flower garlands.  Before the guards could create any obstacle, you have lifted the bow and tied string on it.  Eventually you have broken the bow into two.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Vibho, The deafening noise of the crack of bow had the resemblance of the drum beat of upcoming triumph over Kamsa that was going to take place on the very next day.  The boisterous noise of crash of bow created immense delight in the deities; on the other hand it created extreme trepidation in Kamsa.  The shrieking voices of guards who were beaten by the broken bow were echoed in the atmosphere.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your grandeur was realized by the virtuous with intense love and the wicked people by extreme nervousness.   You have moved around and witnessed the richness of the city of Mathura with your friend Shreedhamna and returned to garden by evening.   You have disclosed to him about the severe pangs of separation from Radha, ultimately went to sleep, satisfied and happy about the progress of the purpose of your incarnation.  Oh! Vathesha, we earnestly pray to protect us.
