Sri Krishna Leela - Ruin of Kaliya’s pride & Blessings of Lord – Srimad Narayaneeyam /Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its meaning

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, while your mesmerizing dance took place on the hood of the serpent Kaliya, your spectacular ear studs were moving to and fro rhythmically was indeed a marvelous sight.  The deities were wonderfully played divine drums to the fabulous music of celestial Apsaras.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Hari, you have continued dancing for long on the raised hoods of Kaliya, leaving the exhausted one.  In this way, you have trampled the entire hood one after another with your lotus feet and clapping your hands in extreme delight.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Madhava, you have crushed the entire hoods of Kaliya and he became depleted, the blood gushed out of the hoods turned the waters of Yamuna red.  Instantly, Kaliya’s wives prostrated before your lotus feet and earnestly prayed.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the wives of Kaliya was all aware of your grandeur; their mind was completely absorbed in your majestic form.  They were eulogized your glories with the sacred hymns which was beyond the powers of great Rishis and Sages.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your heart was overflowing with compassion towards the wives of Kaliya seeing their sincere devotion towards you.  You have freed the serpent Kaliya from your hold with extreme sympathy.  Eventually, Kaliya surrendered to you and prostrated before you.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have advised Kaliya to leave to Ramanaka Island located in the center of the ocean where Kaliya will not face any threat from Garuda, enemy of serpents.  Kaliya reverentially followed your advice and departed along with other snakes.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the wives of serpents offered you with numerous gems and jewels, magnificent silk garments etc… At the end of the day, you have joined with the cowherds and people of Vraja who were anxiously waiting for your arrival on the river bank of Yamuna, they shed tears of joy at your arrival and you went along with them.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa,  It was the dark hours of night, the people gathered  were not in a position to return to their homes in Vraja.  So they have decided to take halt on the river bank and slept in the protection of your lotus feet.  Alas! In that night they were trapped into forest fire.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, the cowherds were awakened and pathetically cried out for help.  Instantly, you have swallowed that colossal fire to protect them.  What’s so strange in that? Your mouth itself is a storehouse of blaze.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Hari, who is omnipresent has the resemblance of blaze was praised by the cowherds, they were extremely happy.  Oh! Hari,   I earnestly pray to eradicate our ailments and sins as well.
