Kanchipuram was
the birth place of Thiru Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar. It was ruled by Thiru Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar
who was from the lineage of Pallava Dynasty.
Kanchipuram was the capital of
Pallava Kingdom famous for its spiritual and intellectual advancement. The
King Thiru Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar who was ruled this city was a righteous
ruler brought abundance of peace and prosperity amongst the life of the people in
this city. During his regime Kanchipuram was one of the
prominent places of worship of Lord Shiva and Shaiva Siddantha. Gradually, Thiru Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar renounced
from the materialistic life and turned out an ascetic. His son was assigned as the heir to the
throne and Thiru Aiyadikal left his Kingdom.
Thiru Aiyadikal
Kadvarkon Nayanar undertook pilgrimage to many sacred temples of Lord Shiva and
sung praising glories of Lord. Lord was
pleased at the devotion and dedication of Thiru Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar, blessed him with
Salvation. In this way, Thiru Aiyadikal
Kadvarkon Nayanar set an example for the rulers with his commendable virtues and
saintliness.
In the Tamil
month Aippasi-Moolam is widely celebrated as the Guru Puja day of Thiru
Aiyadikal Kadvarkon Nayanar, the day he attained the Abode of Lord Shiva.
