Thiruvalvazh /Thiru Vallabha Kshetram is one of
the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu located on the river banks of Manimala in
Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta, Kerala. This
is one of the unique temple famous for its architectural and craftsmanship.

This temple was originally built by the
celestial architect Vishwakarma. In
Dwapara Yuga the idol of Lord Kolapiran consecrated by Sage Durvassa was
immersed in River Netravati. Afterwards
the Queen of Chera Kingdom had a dream in that Lord Kolapiran revealed his
existence and the idol were brought back into its place. The Pathu Illam Pottis & Tulu Brahmins
were made abundance of contributions to this temple in daily functioning and
Puja services.
The legend has the Gantakarana was a zealous
devotee of Lord Shiva. He was instructed
by Lord Shiva to undergo severe austerities and pray to Lord Vishnu on this
sacred land. He used to wear a bell on
his ears which makes the glorious Ashtakshara Mantra; he made a practice to
listen to those Mantras all through his life and finally attained Salvation on this holy land.
This temple remains open from 5.30AM to 11.00AM
in the morning and 5.00PM to 7.30PM in the evenings.
