The legend has that Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Narasimha to save his ardent devotee Prahalada.  The deities and Rishis eulogized Lord and requested him to reside in the same divine form as Lord Narasimha to worship him.   But, that was an instantaneous incarnation of Lord to protect his devotee.  The most compassionate Lord once again incarnated as Lord Narasimha to eradicate the atrocities of demons in this sacred place came to known as ‘Thiruvelukkai’ and continued to dwell in this sacred land at his own will to protect his devotees from all the dangers.

This temple remains open from 7.00AM to 10.30 AM in the morning and 5.00PM to 7.30 PM in the evenings.
