Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, demon Bali was highly pleased after witnessing your
splendid form and reverentially greeted and venerated you in all possible
ways. He spoke “Oh! Viprasuno, what
would you like to have from me? Oh! Brahmin, Shall I offer you with wealth,
food, house, land or all those mentioned above?
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have decided to curtail the pride of Bali after
listening to his speech swollen with pride.
Oh! Compassionate Lord, you have highly praised the bounteousness of the
demons and asked for the place on Earth, which was measured by your tiny feet
for three times, asks for all that belonged to him would be a sheer wit.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Bali spoke in absolute proud “Oh! Vishwesha, Lord
of three worlds, how could you ask for three steps of land on Earth? What would you do with that, instead ask for
the entire Universe.” Bali was failed to
provide even three steps of land due to his excessive pride and brought
disgrace and bondage, Bali did not deserve any of these, but he had to acquire
absolute impassiveness at the end.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Varada, provider of boons, you have made him
realize that who is not satisfied with the three feet of land will not be
contended even with the possession of three worlds. Bali initiated the ritual of charity to you
by pouring the water. Oh! Lord Hari, you
desired to test the integrity of Bali, therefore you have prompted Sage
Shukracharya to refrain Bali from the ritual of charity.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Bali considered himself as truly blessed to offer
charity to Lord, further he did not yield to the words of Sage Shukracharya and
decided to proceed further, eventually Sage Shukracharya was cursed Bali. Oh! How wonderful it was, the ritual of
charity has begun, Vindhyavali, wife of Bali poured water to wash your feet.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The demon King Bali performed the ritual of charity
without any uncertainty and offered everything to you. The deities showered flowers on you. You have assumed the divine form Vamana, as
the three worlds were witnessing the gigantic form of Vamana was broadened
across the cosmic.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Your tip of the foot has touched the Sathyaloka,
the Abode of Lord Brahma. Instantly,
Pundarikothbhava/ Lord Brahma washed your feet with the water from his vessel,
it was turned into Akasha Ganga which purified the entire Universe. The Gandharvas and Vindhyadharas danced in a
state of ecstacy. Jambavan, the ardent
devotee of you went on playing divine drum.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The demons battled against the deities, without the
permission of their King Bali. Oh!
Supreme Lord, the demons were defeated by your convoys on behalf of the
deities. Bali advised his clan of demons
that it was the grace of Supreme Lord they had won the previous battle and
affirmed that it was meaningless to battle against you, eventually he preceded
to Pathal Loka.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Garuda, your celestial vehicle and King of the
birds tied Bali. You have enquired Bali
“ Are you not the Lord of three worlds? Then show me place for my third
step.” Instantly, Bali reverentially
greeted you and asked you to place your feet on his head, in this way you have
measured the third step. Prahlada
appeared at the side of Bali and eulogized your glories.
Oh!
Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have addressed Bali “ Oh! Dhaithya Siddha, all
that had happened to curtail your pride, you are blessed by your virtuous
deeds. You will be ruling the Suthala
region that will be superior to heaven.
In the next Manvanthara you will be crowned as Lord Indra and ultimately
attain union with me.” A grand Yagna was
performed by the priests and blessed Bali.
Oh! Pahivathalayesha, I earnestly
pray to protect us.
