Lord Shiva was pleased at the
devotion of His zealous devotee, a young woman who was married to a
Vaishnavaite. She furtively worshipped
Lord Shiva without the knowledge of her family members as they were passionate
devotees of Lord Vishnu. Her husband was
unhappy about her devotion to Lord Shiva and slashed the statue with an axe,
instantly blood started oozing from the stone and Lord Shiva appeared before
them to prove His existence. With her wholehearted devotion to Lord Shiva, both the woman and her husband got salvation.
This temple remains open from
6.30 AM to 11.00 PM in the morning and 5.00PM to 7.30 PM in the evenings.
