Trinity of Dakshina Bajan Sambradaya !! Sri Sridhara Venkatesa Ayyaval !! Part III !!

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!

Sri Ayyaval continued his search for a place of solitude and arrived at Thiruvisanallur, a small village near the river banks of Cauvery.   He found the place was truly mesmerizing with the presence of legends of Bhagavan Nama Sri Bodhendra Swamigal and Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral. Sri Sridhara Ayyaval was closely connected with Sri Bodhendra Swamigal.  They two often engaged in spiritual discussions together with Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral.  Sri Sridhara Ayyaval was intensely soaked in the Bhakthi to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva and saw no difference in the devotion to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Sri Ayyaval composed many scriptures praising the glories of Lord.  Some of them are Bhagavan Nama Bhushanam, Akhya Shashti, Daya Shatakam, Sthuthi Paddhathi, Shiva Bhakthi Kalpalatha, Shiva Bhaktha Lakshanam, Achyutashtakam and Dola Navaratna Malika etc…

Sri Ayyaval gained lot respect and admirers with his devotion to Lord, though some were jealous at him.  Once, the villagers and prominent people were decided to celebrate Janmashtami festival in a grand manner.  They have given least consideration or respect to Sri Ayyaval to inform about the grand festival or discuss about the same as he was a widely known for his devotion to Lord Shiva.   On the day of Janmashtami, the procession of the deity were carried out through the streets reached in front of Sri Ayyaval’s residence, the priests gathered were refused to accept any offerings to Lord from Sri Ayyaval.  They humiliated him and poured harsh words questioning his devotion to Lord Krishna.  Sri Ayyaval was deeply hurt and returned home.  The procession continued to move on, Sri Ayyaval with intense pain sung praising the glory of Lord Krishna.  In a second, the devotees and priests gathered were noticed that the procession deity, the idol of Lord was missing.  The crowd gathered could listen to the petite voice of Sri Ayyaval singing praising the Lord - ‘Dola Navaratna Malika’.   They rushed to Sri Ayyaval and found that Sri Ayyaval was preparing Little Krishna to sleep on a cradle.  The priest and scholars were flabbergasted and fallen at the feet of Sri Ayyaval for their ignorance.  Later, the entire crowd spent that night singing and chanting the glories of Lord Krishna with Sri Ayyaval.  This incident clearly proved the unparalleled devotion of Sri Ayyaval to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!
