Thennagur Sri Pandurangan Rukumayee Temple is also known as Dakshina Halasyam located in Vandavasi, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.  This stunning temple structure has the close resemblance to Puri Jagannatha Kshetram with exquisite paintings and pristine hall, well-maintained gardens etc.

This small village of Thennagur has got its marvelous appearance by Sri Haridas Giri Maharaj, disciple of Swami Gnanananda Giri who established the Mutt in the remembrance of his mentor.  Swami Haridas Giri Maharaj is well known to the world for his yeomen efforts in spreading Dakshina Bajana Sampradaya/ Divya Namasankeerthan throughout the world.   Pandurangan Rukumayee Temple in Thennagur was built in memory of this great seer.  Sri Haridasgiri Maharaj established many Bajan Mandalis promoting Divya Nama Sankeerthana, Social service centers and philanthropic institutions during his extensive trip to various countries with the mission of spreading the glories of Namasankeerthan including G.A.Trust /Gnanananda Giri Peetam, Thennagur.  This organization has undertaken the construction of shrine of Sri Pandurgan Rukumayee Temple, spectacular Nama Sankeerthanam Hall, Annadhana Mandapam, Mahashodashi and Sathgurnathar Sannidhi which is located opposite to Sri Pandurangan Rukumayee Temple, renovation of village temple of Sri Lakshmi Narayana and consecration of idols of Panduranga &  Tuljapur Ma Bavani,  Navagraha with their consorts , Goddess Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple etc...  , G.A. Hospital, Gosala, Senior citizen home, Veda Padasala etc.. are under the management of G.A.Trust.    Close to Sri Lakshmi Narayana Temple situated a cottage where Sri Haridasgiri Maharaj had spent his last few years before leaving this material world.  In the year 1994 on 4th September, Sri Haridasgiri Maharaj attained the holy Abode of Lord at Koteeswar/ Rudra Prayag in the Himalayas by entering in to Jalasamadhi.

 


This temple remains open from 6.00 AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and 4.00 PM to 7.30 PM in the evenings.
